Privacy Policy

NoonGil is developed by Yusuf Suhair. It uses your camera to describe your surroundings aloud. You do not need a NoonGil account, and the app does not show ads or use advertising tracking.

Camera and on-device processing

Scene, Read text, Colour and Identify process camera images on your device. These modes do not upload your images to the developer or Google. Face detection is used to describe people in a scene, not to identify who they are or build a face identity database. NoonGil does not record microphone audio or request your location or contacts.

Optional Describe mode

Describe is optional. After you provide your own Anthropic API key and allow photo uploads, each Describe request sends a photograph of your surroundings and a short description request directly to Anthropic over HTTPS. Anthropic returns text that NoonGil displays and reads aloud. A photo may contain faces, documents or other personal information visible to the camera.

Your API key authenticates the request to your Anthropic account, so Anthropic can associate requests with that account. Anthropic also receives connection information such as your IP address. The NoonGil developer does not operate a server that receives these requests or keep a server-side copy of your photos or descriptions.

Anthropic's retention and handling depend on its policies, the model and your account agreement. Its standard API policy generally deletes inputs and outputs within 30 days, with exceptions including safety and legal requirements. See Anthropic's retention policy and privacy policy. NoonGil cannot delete data held by Anthropic; use your Anthropic account or contact Anthropic for those requests.

Google ML Kit diagnostics

NoonGil includes Google ML Kit for on-device recognition. The SDK can send Google installation identifiers, device and app information, performance measurements, feature-use events, error codes and configuration metadata. These support SDK operation, diagnostics and usage analytics; they are not used by NoonGil for advertising or tracking across other companies' apps.

The bundled SDK privacy manifests declare Device ID, Product Interaction, Performance Data, Other Diagnostic Data, Other User Content and Other Data Types, without linking them to user identity or using them for tracking. These SDK categories do not mean that the four on-device modes upload camera photographs. See Google's ML Kit data disclosures and Google's privacy policy for its handling, retention and available controls.

Data stored on your device

Your API key, photo-upload consent and certain settings are stored using the platform's secure storage (Keychain on iOS). Describe captures a temporary photo in the app's local storage; the current app does not explicitly delete that temporary file after each request. The operating system manages cached files. The app keeps the latest answer in memory for repeating it and does not maintain a cloud history.

Your choices

• Use the four on-device modes without entering an API key.
• Turn off “Allow Describe to send photos” in Settings to stop future Describe uploads.
• Clear your API key in the app's Settings. Keychain entries can persist after uninstalling, so clear the key first if you want it removed.
• Revoke camera permission in iOS Settings; camera-based features will then stop working.
• Delete the app to remove its local app container and cached photos.

This policy website

This page is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare processes ordinary web-request information, such as IP addresses and request headers, to deliver and protect the website. This page contains no analytics scripts, advertising or forms. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
